Skin Boosters
I was once told if you wanted to know the true age of a woman you had to focus on their décolletage and the back of their hands. It’s becoming increasingly harder to determine the age of young girls that visit The Green Room for skin consultations as they act and dress so much older than 10 years ago, showing my age now!
But when I have a client who has never used sun protection, has used mostly over the counter products all their lives and doesn’t really take care of their skin, then this is equally as hard to determine the age, as they look 10 years older than their years.
Treating lines and wrinkles, volumising the face and enhancing our features can really give us the look we have always wanted, but what about your skin? Does it have that flawless healthy glow?
We all know that drinking 2 litres a day is great for our skin as well as eating the recommended 12 fruit and veg (yes its not longer 5 a day ) every day. But this is not something we always stick to 100% of the time. I manage it most days but we are all human and sometimes there really aren’t enough hours in the day.
Did you know that at age 28-30 women stop producing collagen, hence why at this age we literally look tired and wrinkled over night. Men are a little older than this, hence why men tend to look better as they get older, typical hey!
So how do we get collagen back and give us that lovely plump youthful look again. Well let me tell you about a wonderful treatment called a Skinbooster!

So, how does it work? – Here comes the science bit…
Your skin cells are known as fibroblasts, they are split into 3 sections containing Collagen, Elastin and Hyaluronic Acid (HA). I have drawn on the skin cell to show this – see image below
As we age we lose these fibroblasts, hence the downward direction of our faces and lack of elasticity in the skin. The only way we can wake up these skin cells to start producing more, is through chemical peels and injecting it directly back into the skin with Skin Boosters.
Water-loving HA is found naturally in the body where it maintains hydration in the skin. As we age, the quality of our HA diminishes over time.
Now you have the opportunity to replenish and maintain natural hydration levels from within, as the stabilised HA in Skinboosters continue to work over several months.
*Results may vary from person to person.
Based on a Hyaluronic Acid (HA), the gel like substance called a skin booser, closely resembling your body’s own HA. So all thats going back into the skin is what your body already has and is most likely lacking. There has never been an allergic reaction with these semi permanent fillers as we already have it in our skin cells. The complications we see on these TV programmes ‘botched bodies’ and the awful fillers Lesley Ash had in her lips are from the result of Permanent Collagen Filler! This is taken from the bovine of cows, so its cows collagen! not nice! There are still some clinics using these products but personally I feel its messing with peoples faces and too much risk involved.
Skinboosters are designed to restore HA and add hydration in the skin, resulting in long lasting improvements in skin quality and condition. Skinbooster treatments hydrate the skin and are perfect for treating the face, hands, neck, décolletage and lips where over exposure to the sun can cause premature ageing.
*Results may vary from person to person.
Keeping your looks is not just about the management of facial lines and wrinkles but also good skin quality and texture. Our skin boosters restore skin glow and lustre, to refresh your overall appearance. Perfect as a skin nutrition treatment in its own right, and can also be used in conjunction with all the Dermal Fillers and Skin Peels / AHA range to produce outstanding treatment results.
*Results may vary from person to person.
So What Happens?
A local anaesthetic, the same that your dentist would use to numb your teeth, is applied to the area being treated. It usually takes 30-45 minutes for the cream to work and the skin will feel numb to touch. A series of tiny injections are made all over the area being treated, but the cream applied will make this more comfortable for you. The treatment takes 20-30 minutes and all after care creams will be provided to use for the week after your treatments.
*Results may vary from person to person.
Skinboosters consist of multiple very fine injections into the chosen area of skin in order to gradually improve skin quality and give it a healthy glow. It is one of the least invasive procedures I perform and most people agree that discomfort is minimal too. My mum gave it a 2/10 and she’s my biggest critic!
While you may see results after just one treatment, for optimal results you will need an initial ‘start-up’ course of 3 treatment sessions, 2-4 weeks apart. Your body will gradually break down the H.A in the Skinbooster over the course of the year. In order to sustain your wonderful skin, it is recommended to have further treatments every 9-11 months. This very much depends on how you look after your body and skin in between times.
*Results may vary from person to person.
These reduced price treatments are limited and will have to be offered on a first come, first served basis; so get that slightly aged looking finger out and start dialling.

FAQs
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Your skin cells are known as fibroblasts, they are split into 3 sections containing Collagen, Elastin and Hyaluronic Acid (HA).
As we age we lose these fibroblasts – hence the downward direction of our faces and lack of elasticity in the skin. There are two ways we can wake up these skin cells to start producing more of these lost fibroblasts: the first is through chemical peels, and the second is by injecting the cells directly back into the skin with skin boosters.
WHERE DOES IT WORK BEST?
Skinboosters are perfect for treating sun damaged and generally aged skin. This tends to be on the face, neck, lips, back of the hands and décolletage. This treatment is equally successful on men and women, and it is also suitable for both young and mature skins. It has also proven to have huge benefits for those who may need to improve the structure of their skin, e.g. sufferers of acne scarring or photo damage.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING TREATMENT?
A local anaesthetic, the same that your dentist would use to numb your teeth, is applied to the area being treated. It usually takes 30-45 minutes for the cream to work and the skin will feel numb to touch. A series of tiny injections are made all over the area being treated, but the cream applied will make this more comfortable for you. The treatment takes 20-30 minutes.
RESULTS AND AFTERCARE
While you may see results after just one treatment, for optimal results you will need an initial ‘start-up’ course of 3 treatment sessions, 2-4 weeks apart. The body will gradually break down the H.A in the Skinbooster over the course of the year. In order to sustain your new, wonderful skin, it is recommended to have further treatments every 9-11 months. This very much depends on how you look after your body and skin in between times. Obviously, all after care creams will be provided to use for the week after your treatments.
IS IT SAFE?
The Skinbooster is a gel like substance that closely resembles the bodies own Hyaluronic Acid (HA). So, essentially, you are just replenishing your body with HAs that are lacking or depleted. There has never been an allergic reaction to these semi permanent fillers as we are merely reproducing something already in our skin cells. This is not to be confused with the permanent filler, collagen (mis)used in the ‘trout pouts’ and ‘botched bodies’ that are way too evident on our TVs and in our press. This collagen is taken from the bovine of cows, so it is cows collagen and may not be totally suitable for humans!
